There are so many different ways to make bread, but one is sweet classic everyone enjoys. Banana nut bread is a quick recipe and easy to make though not everyone knows it’s so easy. This is a great recipe to bring with you to potlucks, or let the family enjoy it over time. The best part is, bananas are available year round, which means you can make banana nut bread whenever you want.
Make a loaf, make a cake, make cupcakes or muffins anyway you form it, Banana nut bread is a classic.
Things you’ll need:
½ cup canola oil (or half olive, half canola)
1 cup sugar
2 eggs, beaten
3 ripe bananas, mashed (about 2 cups)
2 cups flour
1 teaspoon baking soda
½ teaspoon baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla
½ cup chopped walnuts (optional)
Banana Nut Bread Directions:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
- In a large bowl, beat with a whisk, the oil and sugar until blended.
- Add the eggs and mashed bananas and mix well.
- Sift together the dry ingredients and slowly add to the sugar mixture.
- Add the milk, vanilla, and the nuts and mix well.
- Pour batter into a greased 9x5x3 pan and bake for 60-70 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
This is the best receive I have found for banana bread! Comes out perfect every time.

Just wondering can I bake banana bread in a 9 by 13 glass cake pan ?
You can, but you would need to monitor the cooking time closely as I am not sure what it is.
I added 1/2 cup of coconut and 1/2 cup low sugar raisins plus 1 tsp of cinnamon. The muffins had to cook about 30 minutes and they are delicious!
